Project Tour: Disability Advocates of Kent County

  • Disability Advocates of Kent County Facility 160 68th Street Southwest Grand Rapids, MI, 49548 United States (map)

Come tour Disability Advocates of Kent County and learn more about the one of a kind Special Olympics of Michigan Facility.

We will see the new Disability Advocates of Kent County space and hear from Wolverine Building Group and Mathison Architects about the construction of the project. Their space is a part of the larger Special Olympics of Michigan project that includes the purchase of the old South Christian High School and its conversion into the SO Michigan headquarters.  This project is the only one of its kind amongst Special Olympics organizations in the country.  They are currently housed at CMU in Mt. Pleasant.  This will allow them to have all of their activities including the Olympics in Grand Rapids.

Kim Wingerak, a representative from the CREW NETWORK National Board, from Calgary will be presenting on CREW National Research initiatives.
